Our years at Vision Yoga & Wellness have been so full of love and support and excitement for the growth of this community. We can’t wait to take all of those good vibes with us to the historic Olney Gallery in Tremont:O
It’s likely that you’ve driven past the beautifully restored buildings that now house a health spa called the Well House. Perhaps you walked by as they finished renovating the gorgeous late 1800’s architecture. Maybe you’ve heard stories about Ukrainian community dances and events held in the art-gallery-turned-ballroom before it fell into disuse. A gallery that predated the Cleveland Museum of Art as this city’s first publicly accessible art gallery.
Now we have an opportunity to bring music back to the eaves of this building and every week engage in bettering our practice in a space that has seen over a century of art, change, individual expression, tragedy, community, loss, creation, and who knows how many tender moments.
For those of us who revel in the roots of tango, its history and strangely abiding familiarity, here I see a chance to honor this art that has endured through changing societies and across oceans. Not only an endurance, but a **thriving** in the fertile soil of those who practice this particular brand of awareness, communication, respect, and desire to be truly present with another human being for just a few minutes.
Please! Come on Wednesday for a first look and help us to make acquaintance with the space. Same practica as always, $10, 8:30pm start time, modest snacks, no cortinas, boisterous conversation.
Then help us really celebrate on Saturday, August 10th with our first edition of Milonga Malena at the gallery! We’ll have our featured artist of the month (and dear friend of the school), Steven Thull, playing music at 8pm and teaching the pre milonga class at 7pm. And we also plan to have some special guests in for the evening to really make it a special night.
